Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT OR DO YOU DO WALK IN’S
Yes we do take walk-ins but we can’t guarantee we will have a free time slot, but we can book you in for the next available appointment.
It’s a good idea to contact us to arrange a consultation or to arrange an appointment. With custom tattoos we need some time to gather information about the design you want and time for the artist to draw up a design for you.
We offer free design consultations with our artist so it would be advisable for you to bring any and all information about your design with you to this meeting to help the artist understand your vision on your design.
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
You can call in to the studio or contact by any of the methods on our contact page to book in your appointment.
New clients to the shop will be required to leave a deposit of up to 50% of the overall cost before of your tattoo.
Appointments can be made to discuss your custom design.
Give us a call or stop in the shop to schedule an appointment with us.
Deposits can be paid via PayPal on our website, or cash through the shop.
HOW MUCH DO TATTOOS COST?
Depending how long it takes the artist to complete the work, we do have a £20 minimum for any tattoo. When you come by for a consultation, we’ll give you an estimate for your design.
If your design is big like a sleeve or a back piece, we charge by the piece because it’s hard to estimate how long something like that will take. Larger pieces are usually done in separate sessions if needed, usually around 3 to 4 hours each session, and we can spread those out as far as you’d like, so the cost is spread out, too.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Sorry no we don’t use point of sale (POS) machines, most shops are cash-only, however we also offer a PayPal payment from our website, you can link your credit/debit card to PayPal and make payments that way using your bank cards.
(when using the online PayPal payment please login to your PayPal account before sending a payment through our website, you will receive an email from PayPal to confirm your payment has been made to the tattoo shop)
we also offer a payment plan where you can buy vouchers over a period of time leading up to your appointment, and these vouchers can also be used for gifts to family and friends.
DO I TIP THE ARTIST?
If you feel like the artist did a good job and provided you with what you wanted, then sure, a tip would be appreciated, but it’s not compulsory or expected.
IS YOUR SHOP LICENSED?
Yes, we have all the relevant certification to be able to operate as a tattoo studio. In addition to being licensed, we are also extremely serious in ensuring that cleanliness and sterilization is our top priority.
DO YOU DO TEMPORARY OR HENNA TATTOOS?
No, sorry we don’t. We only do the real ones.
WHAT ABOUT ULTRAVIOLET OR BLACK LIGHT TATTOOS?
We won’t do full tattoos using ultra violet as they tend to fade faster than normal inks, but we can use them as highlights if they are requested but that’s dependant on each person and each design. Ask in shop for more information.
DO YOU DO ALL-WHITE TATTOOS?
We don’t do full white designs, Although white tattoos are a popular trends these days, they have the potential to turn yellow and/or cause the appearance of scarring upon healing, The truth is that white tattoos are meant for highlighting, not for complete tattooing so we generally use white to highlight within your design.
CAN YOU DO AN INNER LIP TATTOO?
No this is something we don’t really do as we can’t guarantee these tattoos, because there is a chance that an inner lip tattoo will fade or blur considerably over time.
DO YOU DO COVER-UPS AND TOUCH-UPS?
Yes we do cover-ups and touch-ups all the time. Our artist will be happy to look at your existing tattoo and help put together a plan for what can be done to cover it up.
Remember, though, that the darker and bolder the existing tattoo, the more difficult it is to “cover it up,” and that your new tattoo will always be bigger than the original one.
DOES GETTING A TATTOO HURT?
It’s hard to tell you how much it hurts because it varies so much between different people, but you’re definitely going to feel it. There are some steps to follow to help such as being well rested, having eaten something, being hydrated, staying relaxed – the better you’ll be able to sit through your session. We have covered this subject in our info pages on our website.
WHAT ARE THE MOST AND LEAST PAINFUL AREAS OF THE BODY TO GET A TATTOO
Again, this does vary from person to person, we also have an information section on our website that has details that might help you understand better and to be able to plan.
CAN I GET TATTOOED IF I’VE BEEN DRINKING?
No, we won’t tattoo anyone who’s been drinking. There are no exceptions at all.
We want you to be able to make a decision about your tattoo when you’re in a clear state of mind.
Alcohol thins the blood, which means you’ll bleed more while getting your tattoo and it also makes it less likely that you’ll sit still during your session.
CAN I USE A NUMBING CREAM OR AN ANESTHETIC?
Yes you can, but please be aware that it could make things a little harder on your artist. Creams will change the texture of your skin and affect how well your skin takes ink.
They will also get wiped off pretty quickly as the artist does the work, so they don’t even work that well.
If you choose numbing cream you have to apply a couple of hours before hand.
follow the instructions of the cream.
IS IT SAFE TO GET A TATTOO?
Yes. We take a great deal of pride in having a clean and well-cared-for shop, and we take every precaution with you to make sure you are safe and comfortable, please be aware, though, that there is a risk of infection if you do not properly care for your tattoo during the after the process.
CAN I GET A TATTOO IF I’M PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
We would actually advise against it. Your body is already stressed enough as it is, so we suggest waiting. You should talk about it with your doctor if you feel you can’t wait, but also keep in mind breast feeding could also have some element of risk too, so speaking to your doctor about this is also advised.
WILL IT FADE?
We use the highest quality pigments found in the ink industry. These pigments are not cheap for us to buy.
However all tattoos will fade to some degree over the years, ink nowadays is a lot better and fade a lot less over the years.
If you have any other questions you are welcome to call or email us and we will be happy to answer any questions to help put your mind at rest.
